About the finish
This generation moved to a bolder, deeper leather grain. The smooth material went on the bolsters, door panels and trim, and the rosette-embossed material (the 71160-71860 codes) went in the seat inserts. Order both swatches to see the pair together.
Which colors suit your car
Black, Blue, Parchment and Bamboo carried on through 1989 on the SL; Red, Tobacco and Mahogany belong to the 1970s cars. Not sure? Order a swatch first.
